Well. I finally had lunch at Vandyland. On the one hand, the grilled cheeseburger sandwich was good, as was the enormous Rice Krispy bar I took to go, and there seems to be some uncertainty about their lease renewal, so I'm glad I made the effort.

On the other hand, there were enormous Bush/Cheney signs on prominent display behind the candy counter, so that pretty much killed any desire I might have had to return. People can support who they want, of course, but I've plenty of breakfast and lunch options without any aggro on the side.

In other news, I am wildly excited about going to see the Mary Zimmerman adaptation of Ovid's Metamorphoses, which is being performed inside our Parthenon. How cool is that?

Ooooh, I'm so envious. METAMORPHOSES is one of my very favorite shows I've ever seen live -- got to see it kind of by accident on Broadway and am semi-obsessed with it. The Echo scene -- pure genius. Tell me all about it!!!!!
