At any rate, I must thank you for the fantastic prompt -- both because this was immense fun to write (even as I was swearing up a storm over practically every sentence -- I am never, ever going to take Summoning spells for granted ever again) and because I've gained a significantly deeper understanding of the canonical characters in doing so. (Which, given how I've loved them for over twenty years now, is both a surprise and a boon.)
