We were in Michigan over the weekend. Nothing like flying to make one wish with all one's heart for an Apparating license. Still, it was a good visit: highlights included dancing at
qrssama and
mrgeddylee's wedding, catching up with some of the guests over har kow and sesame balls, spending time with various other friends at their homes, playing quarters (very badly) at Saz and Erac's, being wildly amused by the Make article on how to convert a VCR into a timed cat feeder (!), and contemplating/pursuing other mayhem.
In lieu of church Sunday morning, I read Henry Van Dyke's modernization of Chaucer's Ballade of Good Counsel:
In the mood to hibernate. It's lovely here, though -- crape myrtles in full fluffiness and the first patio tomato ripe to pluck.

Flee from the crowd and dwell with truthfulness;
Suffice thee with thy goods, tho' they be small:
To hoard brings hate, to climb brings giddiness...
