Original plan: roast ten beets, two scallion bulbs, and a pound of sugar snap peas; bake two pies and a couple of tarts; turn the last couple hunks of challah into croutons.

Revised plan: set oven on self-clean; nosh on beet greens fried with bacon and scallions; nap; work on poems.
