Hah. One 15-hour "day" later (plus assorted breaks), I am finally done revising and cross-checking version "13a" of the 189 slides, four spreadsheets, and 204 screengrabs I needed to finetune and re-organize in order to release the lot to the production team. Take that, project!

Sustenance:
* two slices of wild mushroom quiche
* one container (two pints?) of potato-leek soup
* one pear
* three bites of leftover steak and a chicken liver
* 1 serving each of OJ, Coke, and coffee
* several slabs of whole-wheat matzo
* most of a dark chocolate-cherry-almond bar
* some sort of cream cheese-nut bar from a lunch meeting

Also e-mailed out a poetry submission, so that's off the list too.

Weekend docket:
* write sermon and deliver it
* revise 30-page outline (= the next greased pig)
* renew interlibrary loans for essay I haven't finished yet thanks to pig-wrestling
* finish the essay due before the one for which I have the ILLs.
* wash the stove while listening to broadcast of Giulio Cesare. If I'm awake for it.
* sort out what certain characters are really saying to each other...

(No, it won't all get done. But those be the priorities, and I have a lot of stubborn. *gleam*)

Special project!fic revision update: 1800 words cut, 1200 added. Something [insanejournal.com profile] _lore said finally nudged my brain into the right groove for beating the stuffing (and stuffed-up-ness) out of the story and reanimating it into something more lively.

Mind, there's still 2,800 words I need to shake out, spin, and steam-press in light of the changes I've made so far. Saints and pumpkins, writing is hard. (That said, that elated feeling when you know you've just made a decent bit of writing so much better? Oh, yes.) Those of you in the beta brigade may be receiving a file soon...

I haven't forgotten about my [insanejournal.com profile] lupin_snape Fantasy Fest commitments (past or present). Regarding this year's art prompt (h!suspicious!Snape), I'm still hoping to meet the deadline full bore, but will post at minimum a ficlet and possibly a preliminary sketch, provided I actually manage to eke out something worth inking in. The scenes in my head are very vivid; my scribbles, not so much. :-( In a nutshell, I will post something by the deadline, and I will likely post morething(s) better post-fest, because I do love the prompt.

Regarding last year's story prompt (Japanese!Snape), I've done a bit more research as bedtime reading (on the nights I actually get to bed before the BYM), and will be restarting part two in earnest come mid-May. The spirit is eager and the bunny is thumping, but I haven't had such a year of terminal behindedness since 1992. (It does help that I will likely be doing more work on a Japan-U.S. course this summer (*), so I have a professional excuse to indulge myself...)

(* What would that be, you may ask? Click the banner at http://www.nashpanache.com to access last summer's edition of "Things Japanese..." (Not linking directly to the course page because I'd rather this journal not show up on their site stats. While I'm not ashamed of my passion for Willow/Squid, some things I'd just as soon not discuss with non-fandom colleagues. *wry grin*)

*tears self away from the frolicsome bunnies to go deal with allergy shots and banks and billable work*
