Saw Recent Tragic Events tonight. Clever.

Whipped together a turkey chili tonight within thirty minutes. Clever me.

It's going to be a multi-coffepot weekend: Two dozen internship applications to review and a ton of billable work. Not feeling at all clever about that, but they too serve who slog instead of scintillate.

Thanks, love. *hugs* When I'm not crazy-distracted with committee work and nasal congestion (which, alas, is very much the current state of the Peg), I do actually enjoy the resume-screening and copyediting -- the former, because it's one of the few projects where my bs filter actually gets put to good use (it's on when I listen to NPR as well, of course, but that would also be why I can barely stand listening to the news anymore), and the latter because I'm not half-bad at it and it's fun making a book better.

On the other hand, scrubbing the stove was also a part of this morning, and it was very definitely tedious (and ooky, and frustrating), even though it was also my excuse to linger in the kitchen listening to Wait!Wait! instead of getting to work...

Yeah, I've been picking at Erac's workbench up in my soldering lair, in between laying down chips. I've gotten all of the dirt swept up, and the parts organized, now where to actually store the shit. I know that when he discovers I've been messing in his lair, I will catch hell. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but I hate looking at messes...he, in turn, claims he can find his shit better if it is higgldy-piggldy. They say creative minds and organization are at odds...so I guess I'm just the organized, plain jane grunt. ;-( As you say, he who schleps also serves, or somthing like to that effect!

The BYM and I have different thresholds when it comes to what constitutes a mess -- he's more bothered by not being able to find things, whereas I'm more fussed about ookiness. Which means that I'm the one more likely to put dishes into the washer but he's the one who gets all agitated about making sure it's loaded properly. *sigh*
