Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Contending with rampant regrets and mortification and tedium. But also dancing to old INXS cassettes.

So far: 39 books hauled to the car; countless magazines binned. My study is going to be guest-ready by Friday, dammit!

Any of you have a sangria recipe you'd recommend? (The ones in my cookbooks aren't inspiring me.)

I made some sangria last summer that was a huge hit. My most restrained friends were partaking very liberally, and all were quite enthusiastic. I found it on Epicurious...

You can use red wine if you don't care for Zinfandel.

Here's the link to the page at Epicurious. I modified the recipe a bit (added some very ripe peach, nectarine, and halved grapes in addition to the citrus, and I cut the sugar). Read the reviews to get a sense of how you might like to alter the recipe to suit your taste.

Thank you, it definitely looks promising! My mission is to use up a 3/4 litre of pinot noir and an ancient bottle of peach schnapps -- we'll see how it goes...
