"Andromeda Tonks is dying," Minerva said.
Lupin stared at his lap. Snape scowled.
Minerva poured more tea before continuing. "She likes being read to. The company matters more than the content. I thought it might be a good project for Laura Bruch."
Snape's scowl deepened. Lupin simply nodded.
Andromeda's bedroom was dimly lit. As they entered, Lupin saw she still had a photo of him and Tonks set on her dresser.
"Was she your wife?" Laura asked.
"They were pathetic as a couple," Andromeda wheezed. "But I'll always love them both."
"Always?" echoed the girl.
Andromeda's eyes met Remus's. "Always."
