"They're tacky," Snape sneered.
McGonagall and Lupin ignored them both, engrossed in assembling some shiny bracelets for Father Christmas's bag. Annoyed, Snape tapped one of the finished bangles with his wand, turning its stones jet black.
"Looks like something my Great-Aunt Niamh would wear," McGonagall observed.
Lupin glanced up apologetically. "Almost done, Severus."
"You could make her a matching necklace," McGonagall cheerfully advised Snape. "She took quite a fancy to you last time she was here."
Snape looked aghast. "You want me to encourage her!?"
McGonagall smirked. Lupin's lips twitched, but he merely patted Snape's knee.
