14/9/05 22:28In Children and Books (Zena Sutherland, 9th edition), there's a mention of the legend of Espen Cinderland and his magic whistle, the latter which apparently is to bunnies as the Pied Piper's flute is to mice. There's a cadence to this sentence which totally cracks me up:

Then the king and queen thought it best to give him the princess and half the kingdom; it just couldn't be helped.
