good things

The antibiotics haven't killed the crud yet, which means I remain exceedingly cranky... but I finally have my car back, and other blessings abound:
* Watching Karim Nagi Mohammed's hands during last night's Boston Camerata concert. They are deft and strong and supple and wicked with tambourines.
*
mrissa's "Silly god poll for Mikulas morning" and the comments therein.
* Haven't been a good girl (that would be why I'm up at this hour working) but Sinterklaas brought me treats anyway: specifically a card from the Netherlands, and also a poem about/for me! *dances*
* Receiving compliments on fics and poems, including some posted and/or published months ago. It's so lovely to be found worth (re)reading -- and yesterday I was feeling massively needy and unreasonably frustrated, so the encouragements from various quarters couldn't have come at a better time.
* Significant progress onperforming drastic surgery on revising a stubborn, thorny, kilter-defying, BLOODY poem.
* BPAL's "All Saints": "Based on a venerable French pontifical incense blend: monastic frankincense and myrrh, Damascus rose, Russian gardenia, cassia, and lily of the valley wafting on a chill Autumn wind. A celebration of the glory and suffering of the saints and matryrs of the Church."
* The Dorff-Nevins-Reisner teshuvah was ratified, which means (among other things) that Conservative Jewish seminaries will begin and/or consider admitting openly gay students, and that Conservative "rabbis, synagogues, and institutions can perform or host those ceremonies and are free to hire openly gay rabbis and cantors" (quote from a USCJ memo). See
rymenhild's write-up and collection of links for more details and analysis ("The Conservative Movement of American Judaism being what it is, the committee [on laws and standards] has actually come to three conclusions...").
* Have inched forward on various work fronts. Not sure where the time to get it all done is going to come from, but at least it's all interesting and/or worthwhile.
