RIP, Molly Ivins

My introduction to Molly Ivins's writing was either during my junior or senior year of high school. My history/English teacher subscribed to The Progressive, made a point of mentioning how funny she was, and let me borrow his copies every month thereafter.

The AP obituary includes this note: "Ivins counted as her highest honors that the Minneapolis police force named its mascot pig after her and that she was once banned from the campus of Texas A&M University..."

Oh my God, I had no idea. I am so sorry that we have lost her. She was a remarkable woman and a remarkable writer, and will be greatly missed.
