The love:

Heartfelt thanks, y'all.

(That said -- [insanejournal.com profile] aunty_marion, what's this canard about "letting" you beta!? Letting!? I consider myself damned lucky every time you say "yes," you daft woman! You keep me from inflicting a score of wounds upon English and French! You too despise The Mustache! etc., and so forth, and much, much love..)

The recs:

[insanejournal.com profile] marginaliana's H/D ficlet for [insanejournal.com profile] starcatsinging: short, sweet, and nuanced.

[insanejournal.com profile] redcoast's sporking of HBP Chapter 16
[insanejournal.com profile] swythyv's essay, "Mourning for Her Own True Love", on HBP Tonks and Lupin

I'll cop to coming up with some weird plots on my own, but before now, I hadn't considered that it might be Lupin who's being impersonated in HBP (instead of Tonks). In these essays and the discussions they generated, the spectres of Pettigrew!Lupin and Dumbledore!Lupin are both raised (as well as Simply Evil Lupin) ... and at the moment I can't decide to what degree I'm horrified vs. to what degree I'm delighted by these new-to-me possibilities.

(Besides, must concentrate! Must first slay plotzilla-in-stasis! Must cease procrastinating with Nora Roberts novels and other fabulous distractions that insist upon leaping into my library bag! Ahem.)

The drabbles (for the [insanejournal.com profile] lupin100's challenge):
"With Cheerful Voice" - Tonks/Appeasley of your choice - G
"Bad Timing" - Lupin/Snape - PG (two linked drabbles)
"For Better" - Remus/Bill, past Remus/Severus - G. Mention of character death. For [insanejournal.com profile] snegurochka_lee.
"Riding on the Bet" - Hooch/Lupin (offstage Hooch/McGonagall and Snape/Lupin) - R. For [insanejournal.com profile] xanthophyllippa.
"Bleeding to Conquer" - Lupin/Snape - NC17. 'Hermaphrodite!slave!"I must rape you"!Werewolf!Severus!BDSM!happy-ending' fic with a kitchen sink this time. For [insanejournal.com profile] pixychelle.

*looks at list* You know, I didn't consciously set out to go smuttier as I travelled down the page. You lot clearly bring out the friskiness in me. *eg*

(The wine I've been sipping might also have something to do with it. A nice Australian pinot noir called the Little Penguin -- not picked for slashtasticness, I confess, but because it happened to be left over from a party earlier this week.)
