"Oh Yini" is a South African freedom song. I'm in a chamber choir that's performing it this Sunday (along with Peter van Dijk's "Horizons"), and I'm so in love with it right now.
Aside from being wildly fun to hear and sing, the lyrics make me want to riff on them both for original fiction and something post-War Snape/Lupin -- especially after finding out that "Themba" is a boy's name and that it means "hope."

Oh yini na Themba?
Ndakuthuma e-Umtata
walibala ngo Tsotsi.
Where are you now, Themba?
I have sent you to Umtata,
but why did you disappear?
You were meant to be here with me.
Tsotsis crushed my hope, I fear.
