(1) settling into a hot bath -- only to leap out of it seconds later, the better to escape the big honking spider floating by my thigh. (I ended up having to smush-and-scoop it out with a sock.)
(2) I'm guessing the new rash on my forearm is from poison ivy. The kicker is that I haven't been even remotely near any Rhus radicans myself, but I was actively canoodling last night with someone who had brushed against the nasty stuff while clearing out euonymuses from a section of the yard. *sigh* I also need to restock our first-aid supplies - to quell the itching, he'd resorted to pouring some watery scotch over it.
On the bright side,
(1) I think the spider had been parboiled into paralysis or death by the time I returned to the tub. (I know that's not nice of me, but I don't deal well with venomous creatures at close quarters.)
(2) the weed-trees were apparently hiding 1 1/2 crape myrtles. More fluff, yay!
