Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Contending with rampant regrets and mortification and tedium. But also dancing to old INXS cassettes.

So far: 39 books hauled to the car; countless magazines binned. My study is going to be guest-ready by Friday, dammit!

I've been meaning to sort out the upstairs for ages, so yeah, 'tis good (even if it's the fact my house is about to be invaded by a horde of car geeks that's actually getting me to get to it *g*).

On the one hand, I'm finding it wrenching having to make choices about what to keep (and in doing so, admit (1) what I'm not good at yet, (2) what I'm unlikely to become good at, and (3) what I originally became interested in because of a friendship or relationship that failed to pan out. On the other hand, what's left is still a scary-sizable-intimidating-exciting stash of unfinished projects and not-yet-studied books and music, so it's not as if I'm being deprived -- I think my psyche is just dense (in both senses of the word). It definitely still has trouble admitting I even need sleep... *rueful smile*
